The EUROS SafeFAT file system allows file level access to block-oriented devices such as hard disk, floppy disk, RAM, HDD, NOR and NAND flash, SD/MMC cards, Compact Flash and so on. SafeFAT is compatible with the FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 file system formats, which are a standard in the industry.

On some media (NOR, NAND, SD/MMC, CF cards), fail-safe storage of data can be achieved, if certain criteria are met by the storage media. With reliable media, SafeFAT always ensures that the files are not corrupted and will always be consistent, even in the case of a power failure or other kind of interruption. SafeFAT takes care of data integrity in a way that isn't done in standard FAT file systems.

SafeFAT supports multitasking: multiple tasks can access the file system simultaneously. In order to maintain data consistency, access coordination and synchronization are performed by the file system component itself.
